*** Recent developments on the ground***
Clashes using medium to small arms have broken out between the FSA and regime forces on the eastern front of the city as other fronts were governed by cautious calm interrupted by sniper operations by both sides.
Assad’s helicopters conducted overflights over the city without dropping any barrel bombs. A number of regime fighters were killed and injured in the vicinity of Sukaina ‘Shrine’ when an explosive device planted by the regime forces themselves blew up. The device was planted as a land mine to thwart rebel advance.
Barrel bombs dropped on the town of Zakiyeh have caused the death ofAli Fiddawi Abu Fahad and Muhammad Kheir Alhaw.
***Humanitarian and living conditions***
The besieged people of Daraya have been suffering for fifteen months amidst a total lack of humanitarian, medical and food supplies. Over 6,000 civilians including 600 children and 50 new born babies are living inside the siege.
The displaced people of Daraya are facing exceeding difficulties due to difficult living conditions prevailing generally in the western countryside of Damascus in addition to security persecution of people from Daraya on all military roadblocks and government departments.
