Intermittent clashes also broke out along the western front amid mutual sniper operations. FSA snipers were able to shoot two regime fighters in the northern area.
The city has been sporadically shelled today by artillery today. The shelling targeted the western and southern.
***Humanitarian Situation***
The tight siege against Daraya has been going on for almost 12 months as regime forces prohibit entry, exit and even getting anywhere near the besieged city.
Over the last few weeks, the city has been suffering from extremely low supplies including food and other necessities.
The majority of families under siege are surviving on spinach and similar herbs in addition to whatever little rice they still have. Fuel has completely run out and wood is being used for cooking and heating. Daily shelling and injuries add to the already bad medical situation amid low supplies of basic medicines (painkillers and antibiotics) as well as medicine for chronic diseases like diabetes and blood pressure.
Over the last month, the relief department started a new rations programme in which the kitchen started distributing meals to civilians and fighters once every two days instead of twice a day.
