|| Situation in Hama and its Suburbs ||
¤ Hama City:
This morning, Assad regime forces searched al-Tawheed neighborhood near Othman ibn Affan Mosque, and parts of al-Sabouneya. Security forces deployed in many streets of the city and set up checkpoints there, as shabiha roamed around al-Shree'a, al-Qusour, al-Karameh, Tareeq Halab, al-Bayad and al-Shaikh Anbar.
We have learned that forces at the Villat Roundabout yesterday blocked refugees coming from the city of Mourek to enter Hama, and they were left to sleep on the motorway until this morning.
In the evening, regime forces surrounding Bab Qibli neighborhood in an attempt to storm it after clashes broke out between regime forces and the FSA.
¤ Hama Suburbs:
Mourek:
Today started with artillery shelling of Mourek from surrounding checkpoints as clashes between regime and opposition forces took place at the outskirts, especially to the north. Shelling continued intermittently throughout the day, and several airstrikes on the city left civilians wounded and houses destroyed. In the evening, two shells struck the city, one near al-Eman Mosque and another near a school.
Kafarzeita:
Rocket shelling of Kafarzeita by regime forces at the Deir Mharde and Tal al-Shaikh Hadeed checkpoints continues
Al-Ghab Plain:
Al-Hawweeja village was subject to shelling from al-Nahl checkpoint in al-Sqailbeya.
Eastern Suburbs:
Various villages in Hama's eastern suburbs continue to witness intense shelling by regime forces, resulting in great structural damage and a mass exodus of civilians to camps in the desert. Clashes near al-Hamra are ongoing as the regime tries to recapture al-Hamra and Brigade 66.
Southern Suburbs:
Aqrab witnessed heavy fighting between regime and opposition forces, and was subject to heavy shelling that resulted in casualties.
This morning, shabiha arrested six people from Jraijes village and beat the women who tried to stand in their way.
