***Headlines***
10 months of siege and attacks; two death including a woman; artillery shelling against #Daraya and #Muaddamiya; helicopter overflights; clashes between FSA and Assad’s forces; tight siege continues
*** Recent developments on the ground***
Ten months have passed since the start of the barbaric campaign and siege against Daraya. The twin cities of Daraya and Muaddamiya were shelled sporadically today using heavy artillery since the early hours of morning. Shelling originated from the Fourth Division Mountains and the checkpoints surrounding the city. The bombardment focused on the northern neighbourhood of Muaddamiya but it spread to cover most areas in both cities causing whole buildings to collapse. Fighting broke out when Assad’s forces attempted to storm the two cities with no success. Fierce clashes were recorded on the northern front of Muaddamiya (Alarbain Front) while combat fronts in Daraya witnessed relative calm interrupted by sporadic shooting and sniper operations on both sides. Meanwhile, helicopters conducted overflights over the two cities; no air raids were recorded.

*** Humanitarian situation***
After 10 moths of tight siege on the two neighbouring cities of Daraya and Muaddamiya, the need is ever more urgent for essential supplies like food, medicine and even potable water. All power, communications and internet services have also been cut off.
The displaced people from both cities continue to suffer in the western suburbs of Damascus due to continual shelling, security forces harassment, and arrest campaigns launched by regime forces. Inside Damascus, security forces are cracking down on most displaced people especially those who come from Daraya or Muaddamiya.
