*** Recent developments on the ground***
The city of Daraya was shelled by heavy artillery and fozdika from the Fourth Division Mountains. A woman and a young man died and many others were injured. Meanwhile clashes between FSA fighters and regime militias broke out along the western front during which Assad’s militias used heavy tank shelling in order to infiltrate FSA lines. Regime helicopters also conducted overflights.
Assad’s forces renewed their attempts to re-claim control over the city. This morning, a military convoy made up of military vehicles, tanks and troop carriers entered the city via the eastern entrance. By sunset, the convoy withdrew to its previous positions.
Combat fronts in the city witnessed relative calm interrupted by sporadic shooting and light-weapon skirmishes.

Nidal Abu Naiem and Muna Omar Alqarh died today.

Over the past nine months the city of Darya has been surrounded by tens of regime checkpoints forming a tight siege and resulting in dire shortage in all the necessities of life amid a complete blackout of electricity and communications. Meanwhile, the displaced people of Daraya are suffering horrific living conditions where food supplies and safe homes are scarce and prices are soaring.
