Shelling from tanks surrounding the city targeted western and southern fronts; Artillery shelling from Muaddamiya Mountains targeted south-eastern. The shelling caused a widespread destruction of neighbourhoods and farms; a farm was set alight due to the shelling as well.
Smoke hung over Mazzeh Military Airport after a loud explosion was heard from there. Pro-regime sources reported that a helicopter exploded inside the Airport. A military convoy including 5 tanks, 4 BMP, 4 armoured vehicles in addition to several DShK-mounted trucks and troop carries entered the city.
Regime forces continued sending tanks and military vehicles towards the eastern entrance to the city in order to supply its troops with food and ammunition. Meanwhile, helicopters flew over the city.
Intermittent clashes took place in the eastern front, while most fronts witnessed mutual sniper operations and B10 shelling.
***Humanitarian situation***
The 9-month long siege has been causing acute shortages in medical and food supplies as well as a complete blackout of electricity, water and communications.
Thousands of civilians including women and children are still trapped inside the city in dire need for the basic life necessities. The city has been without bread for over two months due to the absence of flour.
Hundreds of wounded persons including young children, under 1 year old, are in extreme need for medicine and medical care. Field hospitals are simply not capable to meet all these needs amid these tragic circumstances.
