One martyr and a number of injuries; artillery shelling and intermittent clashes on several fronts; helicopter raids; after 9 months of siege, flour runs out, supplies extremely low
*** Recent developments on the ground***
Clashes between FSA fighters and regime militias took place in the south-eastern and southern areas. The fighting continued throughout the day as regime forces attempted to sneak into the city. Meanwhile, the area was shelled from the Fourth Division artillery. The shelling targeted residential buildings and farms and caused the death of Ammar Abu Yaser as well as a number of injuries.
The western area also received sporadic shelling from tanks located around the city.
Sniper operations as well as B10 shelling were also recorded on several fronts.
***Humanitarian situation***
The 9-month long siege has been causing acute shortages in medical and food supplies as well as a complete blackout of electricity, water and communications.
Thousands of civilians including women and children are still trapped inside the city in dire need for the basic life necessities. The city has been without bread for over two months due to the absence of flour.
Hundreds of wounded persons including young children, under 1 year old, are in extreme need for medicine and medical care. Field hospitals are simply not capable to meet all these needs amid these tragic circumstances.
