***Headlines***
Combing operations on the south-eastern front continue; sniper operations on several fronts; artillery and rocket shelling causes a number of injuries; 8-month-long siege causes dire shortages in all supplies
*** Recent developments on the ground***
FSA fighters continued to comb buildings which they cleared in the past few days along the eastern front. Meanwhile regime forces indiscriminately shelled several areas using rockets and artillery. The most violent shelling targeted the south-eastern and western fronts. As a result, a number of people were injured and several buildings were destroyed.
Regime forces continued sending tanks and military vehicles towards the eastern entrance to the city in order to supply its troops with food and ammunition. Regime helicopters raided the city sky while mutual sniper operations and B10 and RPG bombing occurred along several fronts including the south-eastern and western fronts and Liberty Square.
***Humanitarian situation***
The 9-month long siege has been causing acute shortages in medical and food supplies as well as a complete blackout of electricity, water and communications.
Thousands of civilians including women and children are still trapped inside the city in dire need for the basic life necessities. The city has been without bread for over two months due to the absence of flour.
Hundreds of wounded persons including young children, under 1 year old, are in extreme need for medicine and medical care. Field hospitals are simply not capable to meet all these needs amid these tragic circumstances.
