Fierce fighting has been going on in the vicinity of Liberty Square and ‘Sukaina Shrine’ between the FSA and regime forces as a military convoy from Al-Mazzeh Airport headed towards the city with tanks, vehicles and troops. Meanwhile, regime helicopters flew over the city.
The regime has resumed its systematic shelling against the city’s neighbourhoods using heavy artillery. The shelling is coming from barracks and checkpoints which surround the city.

***Humanitarian situation***
The humanitarian situation is beyond belief. The twin cities of Daraya and Muaddamiya have been under tight siege for more than 8 months. The remaining inhabitants are suffering acute shortages in food and medical supplies amid a total black out of electricity, water and communications.
The suffering of the displaced Darayans is increasing on a daily basis, especially those in neighbouring towns. More than 200,000 displaced people face unimaginable difficulties under siege and shelling.
