The city witnessed cautious calm on most fronts interrupted by mutual sniper operations and light weapons’ clashes as This morning a military convoy headed towards Daraya through the Southern Beltway from Al-Mazzeh Airport with tanks, vehicles, troop carriers and soldiers. The city witnessed heavy artillery and mortar shelling targeted western and southern fronts mainly. Helicopters continued to fly over the city and targeted some neighbourhoods in southern Damascus.
*** Humanitarian situation***
The humanitarian situation is beyond belief. The twin cities of Daraya and #Muaddamiya are about to enter the ninth month in siege. The remaining inhabitants are suffering acute shortages in food and medical supplies amid a total black out of electricity, water and communications.
The suffering of the displaced Darayans is increasing on a daily basis, especially those in neighbouring towns. More than 200,000 displaced people face unimaginable difficulties under siege and shelling.
