The city witnessed cautious calm on most fronts interrupted by mutual sniper operations and B10 and RPG shelling. FSA fighters targeted a soldier in regime forces and sniped him in the vicinity of Liberty Square. The western area was shelled from tanks based on Jedaidat Sahnaya Road as well as from Muaddamiya Mountains. Helicopters continued to fly over the city while some city centre neighbourhoods were shelled sporadically by heavy artillery.
*** Humanitarian situation***
The humanitarian situation is beyond belief. The twin cities of Daraya and Muaddamiya have been under tight siege for more than 8 months. The remaining inhabitants are suffering acute shortages in food and medical supplies amid a total black out of electricity, water and communications.
The suffering of the displaced Darayans is increasing on a daily basis, especially those in neighbouring towns. More than 200,000 displaced people face unimaginable difficulties under siege and shelling.
