*Shelling resumed on neighorhoods of Homs and its suburbs-R...ate of residents fleeing from Ezz Addein region increased dramatically-Smoke columns rise from Old Waaer neighboorhod*
Intense artillery shelling continues to target the besieged neighborhoods of Homs, in addition to the use of explosive oxygen tanks. This took place amid regime attempts to storm these neighborhoods. Violence against the neighborhood of Al Waaer incresed, as snipers targeting civilians crippled all activitiy in the Old region for the fourth consecutive day. Al in Al Waaer, bread was prevented from entering the neighboorhod amid intermittent mortar and artillery shelling.
In the northern suburbs of Homs, renewed shelling targeted Ghanto and Talbiseh from the early hours of the morning. Rastan experienced intense shelling witht he use of artillery and rocket launchers from the engineering battalion north of the city. This took place amid shelling of Krak des Chevaliers with artillery and machine guns n the evening, resulting in widespread fires. In Dar aL Kabira, intense shelling from the Ammunition Battalion resulted int he destruction of civilian homes and a number of injuries.
12 points of bombardment were documented across Homs today:
Bab Houd – Al Qusour – Al Houla – Ezz Addein – Talbiseh – Al Rastan – Al Ghanto – Dar Al Kabira – Al Qunaitra – Al Hamrat - Tadmor Orchatds - Krak Des Chevaliers.
