|| Situation in the City and Countryside ||
¤ Hama City:
At this period in time, Hama is witnessed severe inflation amid frequent power and water outages and a shortage of fuel and other supplies.
On May 1, the Immigration and Passport center of Hama stopped issuing and renewing passports. We have received reports that the head of the branch, and number of his employees, were detained and are being questioned for forging passports.
The deployment of security forces in different parts of Hama was reported throughout the day, including in the industrial area, Janoob al-Mal'aab, al-Qusour, al-Faraya, al-Barazeyeh, the city center, ibn al-Rushd Street and Tareeq Halab. Forces at checkpoints such as the cultural center checkpoint were searching passersby.
In al-Qusour, at around 11 a.m., regime forces erected a temporary checkpoint at the left entrance to the industrial area. They had an armored vehicle, and they stopped all people passing through on foot or in cars. They took their ID cars and checked them. About half an hour later, the regime forces entered the industrial area and roamed around the streets, as they do almost every day. Before the call to Thuhr prayer, the regime forces obligated the mosques to read a statement demanding that all shop owners keep their lights on at night, as an official order from forces stationed at the Computer Institute. This is so that the forces can easily roam around the neighborhood in the evening. Forces were seen moving around the Mahmoud al-Shaqfe area in an armored vehicle.

¤ Hama Countryside:
The daily shelling of Hama's eastern, western and northern suburbs with missiles, artillery and TNT barrels continues, resulting in the destruction of houses and the burning of fields. Regime forces are systematically arresting students and farmers, and there is a severe shortage of food products, infant formula and diesel.

Eastern Countryside:
The Free Syrian Army today gained control of al-Amya checkpoint near al-Sa'en village and captured all weapons and ammunition there. They destroyed two tanks as well.
Also, FSA forces destroyed nine military vehicles in an ambush on Khanaser Road.
Heavy tank and artillery shelling of the eastern villages of Hama's countryside was reported, coming from al-Mab'oujeh village. A number of shells struck northern al-Mkaimeen village.
Souha also witnessed heavy artillery and rocket shelling. A number of houses were destroyed, but no injuries were reported.

Zour al-Sous:
The Zour al-Sous Battalion of the Assad regime army demolished all houses adjacent to its base in the village today, about 20 houses in total.

Northern Countryside:
Yesterday, a large convoy of 43 vehicles moved toward Khan Shaikhoon, a town in Idlib near Hama's northern suburbs, creating a fear among people that the regime army plans on storming the northern area.
Today, Hama's northern suburbs were subject to tank and artillery shelling from Tal Othman and al-Sqailbeyeh. A number of shells struck al-Qsabeyeh, Maghar al-Hammam and al-Habeet, resulting in numerous injuries.

Kafranbooda:
Kafaranbooda and the fields adjacent to Kafarzeita were shelled with artillery, which caused fires to break out in the fields.

Al-Ghab Plain:
Intense rocket shelling of Qastoun from a number of checkpoints was reported, and led to the destruction of a number of houses and the burning of others. A number of people fell wounded as well.

Western Countryside:
Aqrab:
A number of shells struck the town in the early morning, as the blockade imposed by regime forces continues, leaving residents without life necessities and medications.

Al-Ghab Plain: al-Hawweejeh:
