Clashes renewed and the FSA seizes control over a number of buildings and farms on the western front; rocket and artillery shelling causes 2 deaths and a number of injuries; demonstration amid shelling and destruction; siege continues for an 8th month as flour runs out and food and medical supplies run extremely low
*** Recent developments on the ground***
Battles were renewed between the FSA and regime forces supported by Hezbollah fighters along several fronts. The regime has been trying to seize control of the city for almost 8 months. The most violent clashes were fought in the western front where the FSA succeeded in controlling a number of farms near Alqitta Factory. Fierce clashes also broke out in the area between Daraya and Al-Muaddamiya (a.k.a Alshayah) where FSA fighters in Muaddamiya cleared more locations on the road to Jedaida-Sahnaya. Fighting also occurred around Liberty Square and the alleged ‘Sukaina Shrine’ where a number of homes were set on fire by regime forces. Sniper operations continued on all fronts while helicopters flew over the city.
Despite all the fighting, the freedom fighters of Daraya went out in a demonstration after Friday Prayers in which they reiterated their resoluteness to achieve their goals.
The regime retaliated by shelling most areas and combat fronts in the city using artillery causing two deaths and a number of injuries.

*** Humanitarian situation***
Daraya has been living for over eight months under tight siege stopping all necessities from reaching the city. Most food and medical supplies are running out while electricity, communications, and fuel are also completely cut off from the city.
The suffering of the displaced Darayans is increasing on a daily basis, especially those in neighbouring towns. More than 200,000 displaced people face unimaginable difficulties under siege and shelling.
