|| Situation in the City and Countryside ||
¤ Hama City:
Tension in Hama is still running high as a result of daily raids of residential neighborhoods by the regime forces occupying the city, in addition to arbitrary arrests and the presence of security checkpoints throughout the city, at which passersby are harassed and searched.
This morning, regime forces deployed in Tareeq Halab and raided the area between Naseh Alwani and apartment buildings in the Palestinian Camp amid intense gunfire. Forces also deployed in Bab Qibli, where they arrested a number of people.
In the evening:
Security forces deployed in al-Souq area in al-Mugheela neighborhood, near March 15 Street and Souq al-Shajara. They raided a number of houses but did not make any arrests.
Also, we received reported that two passenger buses in Damascus-Hama Road were targeted by regime forces in Harasta city. Preliminary reports indicate that some people were wounded, but none killed.
¤ Hama Countryside:
Eastern Hama Countryside:
A new checkpoint was set up south of al-Bardouneh village on the road connecting the village to al-Shaikh Ali Kasoon. At the checkpoint, the regime forces have Shilka artillery and pick-ups with mounted machine guns. The forces at the checkpoint are from al-Shaikh Ali Kasoon, and from the Salameh family of Salamieh.
Also, in a campaign being waged by regime forces in response to the liberation of a number of villages by opposition fighters, the following checkpoints have been shelling the villages east of Soran.
1. Al-Qabban, between Soran and Tayebt al-Imam
2. A checkpoint between Tayebt al-Imam, M'aardes and Soran
3. Al-Makateb checkpoint west of Soran
4. Al-A'laf checkpoint between Kawkab and Soran
The shelling is concentrated on Tayebt al-Esm and Khafseen, which were struck by more than 700 shells today.
Also, thousands of acres of crops are engulfed in flames as a result of the shelling of villages east of Soran, including Kawkab, Tayebt al-Esm, al-Van, al-She'teh, Khafseen, al-Hazm, Arafeh, and Rabdeh.
Tayebt al-Esm:
Regime fighter jets launched four air strikes on Tayebt al-Esm, and more than 120 artillery shells struck the village. Houses were destroyed and crops were set on fire as a result.
One Body Battle:
The Free Syrian Army completed the liberation of northern al-Van, and began the siege on central al-Van.
Tayebt al-Imam:
Three cars and a pick-up with regime forces were spotted on the main street in Tayebt al-Imam. The soldiers deployed throughout the street, and confiscated the car of a resident.
Aqrab:
At night, shelling of Aqrab renewed after a relatively calm day. Four shells were dropped consecutively from the checkpoint in Baiseen village.
Kafranbooda:
Kafranbooda was subject to heavy artillery and missile shelling from Tal Othman at night.
