|| Situation in the City and Countryside ||
¤ Hama City:
The people of Hama are living in miserable conditions in the midst of a water outage that has continued for four consecutive days. Water is very difficult to come by. The reason water has been cut off from the city is that one of Hama's water purification plants is in al-Qusair. Due to clashes there, most employees have stopped working for the last six months. This was the main water supply for Hama; wells in the city are still working.
There is heavy traffic in the city due to the fact that cars are stopped at checkpoints for long periods of time. On a daily basis, people are stopped at these checkpoints: Cultural center in Assi Square, al-Jub Roundabout in al-Arb'een, al-Hadeed Bridge, Institutes Complex, Ain al-Louzeh Roundbaout, Faisal al-Rokbi Roundbaout in al-Shree'a, and some others.
In the evening:
Shabiha were seen deployed near Abu al-Nawas neighborhood in al-Jalaa, and in al-Qusour an armored vehicle came and arrested three men.
¤ Hama Countryside:
Eastern Hama Countryside:
A military convoy headed from al-Shaikh Ali Kasoon toward Tal al-Thahab, and then onto al-Hamra Road. It included a tank, a cannon, a rocket launcher and about 50 cars.
Al-Alqaneh village was heavily shelled, and fires erupted in agricultural fields and people's belongings were destroyed.
The villages of Arafeh, Wareedeh and Qasr Shawi also faced unprecedented shelling. More than 30 missiles fell on residential buildings, and a number artillery shells were fired from al-Kharsan checkpoint. One resident sustained a shrapnel injury that amputated his foot, and residents fled the area.
In the afternoon, a military convoy left al-Rhaijan village toward al-Sa'en village. It comprised three pick-ups with mounted machine guns, and three Hyundai vehicles. There are reports that they kidnapped a 17-year-old girl.
The shelling toward Abu Hbailat, al-Hardaneh and Um al-Mail villages intensified in the evening. Tens of shells were fired about five minutes apart, and multiple shells were fired in a single shot.
One Body Battle:
The Tahmaz shabiha base in al-Van al-Shamali was liberated after a three day siege.
Southern Hama Countryside:
MiG warplanes shelled the area near Braigheeth village, and al-Jamaleh and al-Braigheet villages were targeted with Gvozdika shells, by regime forces at al-Mushrief checkpoint and al-Buhouth Mountain at a rate of two shells per minute.
M'aardes:
Two tanks, a pick-up, and a number of soldiers left al-E'laf checkpoint in Kawkab toward M'aardes. They stopped in the middle of the road, set crops on fire, and set up a checkpoint at the Soran-al-Arouneh checkpoint amid intermittent gunfire.
Aqrab:
Aqrab witnessed very heavy shelling from the Ba'ereen checkpoint- more than 60 rockets have fallen on the town so far today.
Soran:
Heavy shelling from the Qabban checkpoint toward northern al-Van was reported. More than 5 shells were launched in a single minute.
