The regime continues to attempt seizing control of the city of Daraya. Heavily-armed troops have been deployed along the Damascus-Daraa Highway. Meanwhile, more forces are still being sent daily to Daraya. This morning, a military convoy headed towards the city from Al-Mazzeh airport including 4 tanks, 3 armoured vehicles, 4 BMP vehicles, 11 machinegun-mounted trucks, as well as several troop-carriers. The city is also still besieged by a large number of tanks, military vehicles and troops. Helicopters are still conducting daily sorties over the city.
Meanwhile, FSA fighters are still repelling any incursion attempts by the regime and targeting regime locations with mortar shells and homemade bombs. Last night, violent clashes broke out near the alleged Sukaina Shrine and along Dahadeel Road. Clashes were resumed along most fronts throughout the day with varying degrees of intensity. The most ferocious battles were fought along the western and southern fronts.
The Fourth Army Division as well as the barracks and checkpoints surrounding the city continued to shell the city especially the southern and western fronts causing widespread destruction in buildings and infrastructure.
