*** Recent developments on the ground***
The regime resumed its attempts to seize control of the city. This morning, a military convoy headed towards the city from Al-Mazzeh airport including 4 tanks, 4 armoured vehicles, 2 BMP vehicles, 12 trucks mounted with machineguns, and a number of troop-carriers. The city is still under tight military siege enforced by tanks, military vehicles and a huge number of troops. FSA fighter are still repelling any attacks and targeting regime concentration points using mortar bombs and homemade bombs.
Fierce clashes broke out near Alqariya Alsagheera on the southern front, and near the Consumer Complex on the Old Corniche. Intermittent clashes broke out along the western and south-western fronts interrupted by sniper shottings.
The city is still being shelled daily from the Fourth Division Mountains as well as from the barracks and checkpoints surrounding the city. The shelling today targeted the southern and western fronts and left widespread destruction throughout neighbourhoods and infrastructure. Warplanes also launched airstrikes against the city.
*** Humanitarian situation***
The suffering of the displaced Darayans is increasing on a daily basis, especially those in neighbouring towns. More than 200,000 displaced people face unimaginable difficulties under siege, shelling and recurring massacres. People remaining inside Daraya are facing a far greater threat under siege and total absence of the basic necessities of life including electricity and water.
*** Medical Centre Report***
The medical team continues to provide all possible help to rescue and treat injured victims whether civilians or FSA fighters despite the extreme shortage in medical staff, equipment and material.
The field hospital received today a number of injured victims. The victims were rescued and given the necessary treatment and medication.
