Helicopter and recon aircrafts fly over Daraya; rocket launcher and artillery shelling; storming attempts renew; clashes between FSA and regime forces; 1 dead and a number of injuries
*** Recent developments on the ground***
Regime forces resumed their attempts to storm and control the city of Daraya by sending military reinforcements from Al-Mazzeh Airport including tanks, BMP vehicles and DShK vehicles. The reinforcements joined the huge numbers of military vehicles that already exist on the southern and western fronts. Clashes broke out intermittently along the western front while the remaining fronts were dominated by cautious calm interrupted by mutual sniper operations.
Military locations in Fourth Division Mountains and Regiment 100 as well as tanks surrounding Daraya showered the city with artillery and rocket shelling which was especially heavy on the southern and western fronts.
Recon aircrafts as well as helicopters flew over the city today.
Ibrahim Abu Rislan joined the list of Daraya’s fallen heroes after he refused to leave his hometown where he was killed today.
*** Humanitarian situation***
The suffering of the displaced Darayans is increasing on a daily basis, especially those in neighbouring towns. More than 200,000 displaced people face unimaginable difficulties under siege, shelling and recurring massacres. People remaining inside Daraya are facing a far greater threat under siege and total absence of the basic necessities of life including electricity and water.
*** Medical Centre Report***
The medical team continues to provide all possible help to rescue and treat injured victims whether civilians or FSA fighters despite the extreme shortage in medical staff, equipment and material.
The field hospital received today a number of injured victims. The victims were rescued and given the necessary treatment and medication.
