Rocket and artillery shelling; storming attempts renew; clashes on combat fronts; tight siege persists

*** Recent developments on the ground***
For Daraya’s residents and FSA fighters, today was just another day in their battle to survive storming attempts by the regime. This morning, a military convoy of tanks and armoured vehicles headed towards the city and clashes broke out on several fronts including the alleged Sukaina Shrine, the Old Corniche, as well as the western and southern fronts.
Shelling using artillery and rocket launchers targeted active fronts especially the southern and western fronts in addition to residential neighbourhoods in the city centre. Warplanes raided the city shelling it using thermobaric bombs. In the evening, the reinforcements that entered the city retreated towards their points of origin accompanied by ambulances and other cars loaded with looted items.
The city is still suffering under a tight siege leading to extreme shortage in all supplies and a complete interruption of electricity, water and communications.

*** Humanitarian situation***

The suffering of the displaced Darayans is increasing on a daily basis, especially those in neighbouring towns. More than 200,000 displaced people face unimaginable difficulties under siege, shelling and recurring massacres. People remaining inside Daraya are facing a far greater threat under siege and total absence of the basic necessities of life including electricity and water.

*** Medical Centre Report***
A few people are still suffering from toxic gas poisoning after yesterday’s attack. The medical team has been following up these cases closely with the aim of helping them achieve recovery.
The medical team continues to provide all possible help to rescue and treat injured victims whether civilians or FSA fighters despite the extreme shortage in medical staff, equipment and material.
The field hospital received today a number of injured victims. The victims were rescued and given the necessary treatment and medication
