Clashes on several fronts; Jet fighters carry out raids against the city causing timber warehouses to be set ablaze; violent rocket and artillery shelling causes a number of injuries; siege continues amid extreme shortage in all necessities of life

*** Recent developments on the ground***
On day 165 of the campaign against Daraya, Assad’s forces escalated their shelling of the city using rocket launchers and artillery from Regiment 100 and other locations around the city.
Meanwhile, military jet fighters carried out several raids against the city. Reconnaissance aircrafts also conducted prolonged flights over the city. Clashes broke out along several fronts as Assad’s forces tried desperately to claim control over the city and were successfully repelled by the FSA. The southern and western fronts saw the most ferocious battles while cautious calm prevailed on other fronts.
After the reinforcements left the city, shelling was renewed at 9:00 pm from checkpoints surrounding the city as well as from the nearby military barracks (4th Division Mountains, Al-Mazzeh airport, Regiment 100, Combat Companies).

*** Humanitarian situation***
The suffering of the displaced Darayans is increasing on a daily basis, especially those in neighbouring towns. More than 200,000 displaced people face unimaginable difficulties under siege, shelling and recurring massacres. People remaining inside Daraya are facing a far greater threat under siege and total absence of the basic necessities of life including electricity and water.
*** Medical Centre Report***
A few people are still suffering from toxic gas poisoning after yesterday’s attack. The medical team has been following up these cases closely with the aim of helping them achieve recovery.
The medical team continues to provide all possible help to rescue and treat injured victims whether civilians or FSA fighters despite the extreme shortage in medical staff, equipment and material.
