|| Situation in the City and Countryside ||
¤ Hama City:
As usual, the situation in Hama city is quite tense as a result of daily raids and arrests by occupying regime forces, who search people passing through checkpoints.
Yesterday morning, the residents of the Souq al-Taweel area awoke to news that four shops had been robbed by an unknown party. On Sunday morning, two shops on Carpenters' Street were robbed as well. The tires of two cars near the Carpenters' Market were stolen as well. They were worth about 25 thousand Syrian pounds. In recent months, corpses have been uncovered in al-Taweel Market, some identifiable and others not. Regime forces also arbitrarily arrest people in the area from Assi Square to al-Dabagha Slope to Ibn al-Rushd Street passing through al-Taweel Market to al-Marabet Street and March 15 Street. A number of security vehicles also constantly patrol the area.
Also, the Baath Party HQ building, which is a base for security forces and shabiha, was reinforced with tens of forces today. Forces at the base physically beat a man known as Abu al-Safi. Eight armed forces were seen going into ibn al-Rushd Street, where they arrested two men, and a third in al-Bashoura neighborhood this afternoon. Security forces have been deployed in the area since Friday, and arrests are arbitrarily carried out throughout the day. Also, intermittent gunfire and clashes are reported in the area. It is reported that 15 people have been arrested there in recent days.
This morning, shabiha kidnapped a man named Abdulrazaq Hnaithel from his place employment in al-Hader - al-Amereyeh. The shabiha were dressed in athletic clothing, and they took him away in a civilian vehicle.
