horrible medical and humanitarian situation
*** Recent developments***
For the 98th day in a row, Assad’s forces continued with their assault
on the city of Daraya in their desperate attempt to seize control of the
city. A military convoy entered the city supported by tanks, armoured
vehicles, DShK vehicles, and troop carrying coaches.
Fierce clashes
broke out along several fronts especially around Liberty Square (city
centre) and the Cooperative Consumer Centre (southeast). Other battles
were fought intermittently near Aljamiaat area (northwest). FSA fighters
are still conducting wide-ranging combing operations in order to clear
some areas from infiltrating Assadist elements.
Assad’s forces
continued to loot and burn houses in the eastern outskirts of the city
alongside the house-razing campaign near Al-Mazzeh airport. Meanwhile,
Assad’s tanks, artillery and rockets continued to hit the city for 102
days. The intensity of the shelling ranged from low to high but it never
stopped.
Shelling against the city concentrated on Liberty Square,
Sukaina Shrine, new and old Maliya areas, the vicinity of the church,
Aljamiaat area, Graveyard Roundabout, as well as the western and
southern areas.

In addition to the above names, a displaced mother and her two sons
were killed in the town of Darkhabiya which has been witnessing brutal
shelling.
*** Medical Situation***
The field hospital received
today 13 victims including civilians injured by the barbaric shelling,
as well as FSA fighters injured in action. Most of the cases were in
medium to critical conditions. Amid a dire lack of medical supplies, the
victims were rescued and given the necessary treatment and medication.
*** Humanitarian situation***
The humanitarian situation is increasingly getting worse for the people
of Daraya, whether they are still inside or displaced outside the city.
Around 10,000 people have been under siege inside the city for
over 3 months in complete power cut and total blocking of medical, fuel
and food supplies.
More than 200,000 displaced people are still
suffering the hard living conditions associated with displacement in
several areas in Damascus and Damascus Countryside. Most of them suffer
under the cold weather, lack of food, blankets and the basic necessities
of life. Many of them live in uninhabitable places. The cold weather
and lack of medical supplies causes the spread of winter diseases
especially among children.
Assad gangs are located in these areas
• A number of soldiers including a sniper in Liberty Square
• A number of soldiers including a sniper near Alsamh Mosque
