*** Recent developments
Assad’s warplanes intensified airstrikes against the city of Daraya during which cluster bombs and vacuum bombs were dropped on residential neighbourhoods in the city centre.
Meanwhile, for the 49th day in a row, Assad’s forces continued their failed attempts to storm the city from many fronts including the eastern, southern and western fronts.
Reinforcements made up from tanks, armoured vehicles, and troop carriers headed towards Daraya from the Southern Circle Road and Almaamil Road as well as Al-Mazzeh airport barricade adjacent to Daraya.
As a result, battles broke out between FSA fighters and Assad’s gangs. The battles extended from Damascus Road to the Old Corniche and its vicinity. The heroes of the FSA damaged two tanks and destroyed one T72 tank and killed dozens of soldiers.
Other battles broke out along Almaamil Road and the FSA repelled the attack and forced the Assad gangs to retreat.
On the western front, battles were fought on Alshayyah Road where Assad’s forces were trying to break into the ranks of the FSA. However, despite the great difference in power, our heroes stood their ground and stopped the attacking forces in their tracks.
The FSA are still carrying out combing operations in buildings along the New Corniche into which some Assadist troops sneaked from the Al-Mazzeh Airport Barricade.
Alongside the battles, all types of heavy arms were used to shell the city’s neighbourhoods for a 53rd consecutive.
Shelling was concentrated on the western and eastern areas suing rocket launchers and heavy artillery, as well as surface-to-surface missiles which resulted in massive destruction in residential neighbourhoods, civilian homes and infrastructure.
*** Medical Situation
11 people were killed today and 15 civilians were injured today.
The field hospital received today many victims injured by the incessant shelling by warplanes and artillery, most of whom were in critical conditions. A number of surgical operations were performed including one abdominal surgery and splenectomy, and another operation for bone fixation and splinter removal. Several children were treated for asthmatic bronchospasms caused by smoke caused by explosions. Within the available resources, the victims were rescued and given the necessary treatment and medication.
***Today’s martyrs
11 people were killed today including 4 who were extrajudicially executed by Assad’s gangs on the outskirts of the city and 7 who were killed by the systematic shelling of the city.

*** Humanitarian situation
The humanitarian situation is increasingly getting worse for the people of Daraya, whether they are still inside or displaced outside the city.
Around 10,000 people have been under siege inside the city for 57 days in complete power cut and total blocking of medical and food supplies.
More than 200,000 displaced people are still suffering the hard living conditions associated with displacement in several areas in Damascus and Damascus Countryside. Most of them suffer under the cold weather, lack of food, blankets and the basic necessities of life. Many of them live in uninhabitable places. The cold weather and lack of medical supplies causes the spread of winter diseases especially among children.
Assad gangs are located in these areas
• A number of soldiers including a sniper hiding inside Alibaa Alarabi School
• A number of soldiers including a sniper hiding inside homes around Alnakkashat area
• A number of soldiers including a sniper hiding inside homes near the Police Station
• A number of soldiers including a sniper hiding inside homes near the Graveyard square
• Along Sahnaya –Jedaideh Road which runs alongside Daraya
• Aldahadeel Road between Hammam Alqishani and Alsalam Mosque
• Around Alothman Mosque
• Around Wahab Mosque
• Snipers spread in the vicinity the above areas targeting any moving body.
