A massacre was uncovered in the Deir Ezzor province today, where the bodies of 50 individuals who were kidnapped about two months ago were found severely disfigured and burned by regime forces. A vehicle exploded near a mosque in a previously safe and calm neighborhood of Homs city, resulting in the injury of many civilians. Shortly after the explosion, residents of the neighborhood staged a protest at the scene of the incident, which was broken up by regime forces' gunfire.
Sounds of explosions were reportedly heard in a neighborhood in the city of Hama as a result of two explosive devices that were planted by the regime army's thugs.
Regime tanks targeted a southern neighborhood of Damascus city, causing fires to break out in the area. Many regions of the Damascus suburbs were subject to mortar and artillery shelling amid electricity blackouts in several areas.
Several neighborhoods in both the city and suburbs of Homs were shelled with mortars and rockets today, as villages in the mountains of Lattakia were attacked with mortar shelling as well. Regime warplanes used machine guns to target several towns in Daraa, resulting in large explosions. Electricity and communication services were disrupted in a neighborhood in Daraa amid heavy rocket shelling. Several regions of the provinces of Deir Ezzor and Idlib were indiscriminately shelled today as well.
Clashes broke out between the FSA and regime army forces in many regions of the capital today, as well as in its suburbs. Rocket shelling targeted the Damascus International Airport amid fierce clashes between members of both armies. Regime forces also clashed with members of the Free Syrian Army in the provinces of Hama, Lattakia, and Idlib as the FSA blocked regime forces from storming neighborhoods in Lattakia.
In spite of the regime forces' regular attacks and direct gunfire onto peaceful demonstrations, protests were carried out in various parts of most provinces today, as civilians continue to call out for freedom and demand the toppling of the regime.
