As attacks regime forces violently escalated today, a massacre of 40 civilians was carried out in the Damascus suburb of Badhalieh. Regime forces summarily executed the 40 individuals after arresting them at a checkpoint in the area and torturing them. Another massacre took place in the Damascus suburb of Al-Hama, where regime forces shot direct gunfire at civ...ilians under the city's bridge, leaving eight dead and a number of others wounded.

Regime forces used knives to summarily execute three individuals with knives at a checkpoint in the southern Damascus suburbs. Regime thugs also slaughtered two women, along with one of the women's children, at a checkpoint in Homs. In northern Damascus city, the bodies of two unidentified civilians were discovered, as more than ten individuals were kidnapped by regime forces at a checkpoint in the neighborhood.

A children's school in one of the refugee camps in the suburbs of Damascus was targeted with heavy regime shelling today, killing 30 students and injuring a number of others.

Residential neighborhoods in the various southern suburbs of Damascus continue to face the regime's heavy and continual shelling with rockets, artillery, mortars, tanks and warplanes, which resulted in the fall of martyrs and casualties and led to the destruction of many buildings. The suburb of Beit Sahem was attacked with MiG warplanes, mortars, and tanks for the seventh consecutive day.

Several regions in Aleppo province were heavily shelled with artillery. In one of the neighborhoods, three civilians were wounded after regime forces opened fire at a gathering of people at a local bakery.

In the province of Daraa, the siege of Khirbet Ghazaleh continues with the use of tanks and regime forces. Another town in Daraa was reportedly subject to heavy rocket shelling amid a power outage in the area. Intense mortar and artillery shelling was also reported in Qunaitra, amid heavy clashes in the province.

The heavy shelling of residential neighborhoods in Deir Ezzor resulted in the death of three individuals, including a woman and a child, and the injury of many others in a single neighborhood in the province. Rockets were launched by regime forces onto several neighborhoods in Idlib, which resulted in the destruction of a grand mosque in one of the province's regions. The shelling of a residential neighborhood in the city of Homs led to the collapse of houses atop residents, and the injury of many civilians.

Clashes broke out between members of the Free Syrian Army and regime army forces throughout the suburbs of Damascus, as the FSA attempted to block forces from storming cities in the suburbs. Regime forces also fiercely clashed with the FSA in several areas in Aleppo, as well as in the area surrounding the Deir Ezzor Military Airport.
