A number of neighborhoods in the city were raided by shabiha thugs, who went on campaigns of arbitrary arrests.
At 8 a.m., regime forces were deployed in and carried out raids in Wadi al-Hawarneh, al-Bayyad, al-Andalus, al-Jalaa, Kazo and the industrial area. They searched houses and arrested some young men. At one point, regime forces raided Mashaa' al-Tayyar in Janoob al-Mal'aab. Security forces were deployed near Shafeeq al-Ebeisy School with armored vehicles and buses. They searched houses and broke into some shops, after which they stole some belongings and arrested some people.
A military envoy was seen leaving the political security branch in Hama toward Kazo neighborhood, where regime forces and shabiha thugs from Arzeh village raided, looted, stole, and arrested a number of residents. They also burned more than three houses in an invasion of the neighborhood.
At around 9 a.m., intermittent gunfire was heard from the security checkpoints on al-Alamain Street. At the same time, security forces were seen moving to and from their barracks. A security envoy comprising nine different vehicles, some of them loaded with machine guns, traveled to and from the Air Force Intelligence base and the train station. Temporary checkpoints were set up in some neighborhoods of the city, such as the one in front of al-Serjawi Mosque.
