The latest developments in occupied Homs up to this hour 21/07/2012

The brutal military campaign continues on the province of Homs for the 46th day with mortar shells, missiles, incendiary weapons, tank shells, gunships and aircrafts all b...eing used on the besieged province. Many civilians are trapped with no electricity, water, food, gas, diesel, and medicines and the brutal shelling continues to cause an increase in the number of injuries and homeless who have little to no aid or protection.

The number of areas that have been shelled for today has reached 11 till this moment:

• Jouret Alshayah
• Jobar
• Baba Amr
• Alsultaniyeh
• Alkhaldiyeh
• Alqarabees
• Alqsoor
• Alrastan
• Teir Maleh

11 civilians have been martyred thus far from them a child. Several new reinforcements made their way from the northern entrance of Homs to the centre of the province.

• Alrastan:

Violent shelling on the city by regime army forces with mortar shells and missiles

falling onto the besieged area as well as war planes violently and repeatedly attacking

the city. Child Ahmad Dalah and Abdulsalam Dalah were martyred with dozens injured

including some critically.

• Talbiseh:

Regime shelling on the city as the violent military attack continues for over 40 days. Talbiseh has been repeatedly under brutal attacks with refugee shelters constantly targeted by aircrafts and regime forces continuously trying to enter on the ground. Majed Aldaqah was martyred, born in 1978 and married. Many injuries have fallen due to shelling on Alfarhaneyeh Algharbeyeh village.

• Alqusair:

The regime shelling on the area has been so brutal covering the main city and its suburbs and also the villages of Joseyeh, Alnizareyeh that are bordering Lebanon. Khaled Mahmoud Amer and Basel Abdulhakim Amer and Mohamad Ahmad Amer and Nadeem Barqa with many injuries falling too.

• Baba Amr, Alsultaniyeh and Jobar:

Regime shelling resumed for another day on the besieged areas. The war tanks present at the nearby checkpoints have continued to attack leading to the martyrdom of Hasan Kakhia and Mohamad Alsaman.

• Deir Balbeh:

2 tanks left the Petrochemical College checkpoint towards an unknown destination. There is a heavy presence of war planes above the neighborhoods and these are shelling the province of Homs.

• Almakrameyeh:

The defector Ihab Ghazoula born in 1988 from Alshaghoor in Damascus. He is a graduate in accounting and defected from the Assad army to turn to defending civilians in the village of Almakrameyeh and was buried there.

The village was subjected to shelling today. It should be noted this village is full of refugees. The source of shelling is the pro-Assad village of Almukhtareyeh. The checkpoint in the pro-Assad village has also opened fire onto civilians passing by.
